what lap top should i get?
6 Answers
i just want one to download and burn music onto cd's, connect to the internet using my dongle with a usb port, have some kind of word application, and it would be a bonus if it has a good battery life. ideally i would only like to spend - but i could stretch to a little more if it's gonna get me something that will last. I've had a quick look on some sites but i really don;t know what i should be looking for.

As you only want to spend - then have a look at the super markets, they often have good deals on laptops, the only two things I'd suggest are stay away from celeron processors and stick to the well known brands and you'll be ok

Make sure the laptop has Microsoft Office 2010 Starter on it.
This is provided by Microsoft for "free" (often preloaded on laptops) and there is no trial period on it (it will work for as long as the laptop works).
It consists of Word and Excel (slightly cut down versions of both products - though plenty enough features for the average person).
