Do you think that it would be a good idea to rename Leeds / Bradford Air port? The Sir Jimmy Savile International Airport as a mark of respect to a truly great man.

LaGuardia is largely a domestic airport. It serves North America but is not international.
why not ? he did an awful lot for charity, I met him once years ago whilst a patient in Hammersmith hospital, the lady in the next bed worked in the BBC canteen so I told him and he couldnt do enough for her put her in wheelchair and took her with him for the rest of the hospital tour.
i bet she only wanted to sit in her bed watching eastenders.
I'm still giggling about the Robin Hood comment :-)
He certainly did a lot for charity. I'm sure he also used to be a pretty good wrestler on World of Sport.
I'm not sure about naming an airport after him but maybe a children's hospital or ward could be named after him
He did one day a week at St James Hospital in Leeds factor, I think he was a remarkable and very private man
There you are then Bobbisox- they could rename the hospital "Jimmy's"
^ Yes, I know...
It gets that anyway factor, as a term of endearment
I agree with 237SJ. I do not think he was well known outside of the U.K. You have to be really really famous to have one of those named after you.
El Dorado Airport in Bogota was named after a failed TV soap though Johnny
I stand corrected then. Sorry I did not know that. Would you like an airport to be named "mungbeaz airport" after you as well?
Yes I would Johnnyboy. But only if it meant I could go in the Business lounge and have free glasses of Coke.
They did it for Stan Sted.
and Lou Ton
You have forgotten to mention Heath Rowe as well as Mann Chester!
definitely not.
They would have to change it when the truth comes out.
what ARE you talking about, messi ten?
He raised a lot of money for charity I agree, but I can't see the connection with the airport. A Jimmy Saville Foundation would be more appropriate and the money can continue to roll in for the charities closest to his heart.
