Nope, missed it. Will there be a repeat of it at some time?
Question Author
It is repeated on Sunday night - 11pm (ish).
Flew by at an absolute rocket pace, but well worth a watch. I'm pleased that the BBC has teamed up with HBO who consistently make excellent programmes. Am I right in thinking they did the same with Band of Brothers or am I way off the mark?
I'll make sure that i don't miss it this time. Thank u Vespaboy
I was really looking forward to watching Rome but I was disappointed in it. I thought the editing was appalling and most of the acting not much better. I don't think I will be watching it again. Now Band of Brothers was something else! Amazing series. I bought the DVD for my husband last Xmas.
It rocketed by because the BBC merged the first two episodes into one. They said that the Americans needed lots more background which we did not as we know more about European history than them. So they cut out tons of stuff. If you check out the thread on www.digitalspy.co.uk you will discover what you missed. I have to say I was a bit confused as to why Pompeii was working on a ginger girl for a future wife and then turned up with an older bird with a big nose without anything being explained about how this had occurred. Also. it took the army about 5 minutes to get back home from Gaul. I wish we coul dhave seen the whole intended thing.
Well, i ain't seen it yet, so what do u recommend? Should i watch the repeat of it on Sunday or not?

Yes, my husband was perfectly happy to pay the licence fee for the muff-fest that this was!

I thought the nasty woman was a bit cartoonish at times, but I liked the pacing and the story about the two soldiers.

Bit of a curates egg. I'd prefer if the cast looked a bit more, well, Italian. It promised the streets of Rome as they may have been, but still looked like an Americanised film set. I'll stick with it (not just for the muff-factor, though it helps). Good in places.
