I just found out Patrick Leigh Fermor died in June, I was out of the country and must have missed the obituaries.

I don't suppose we will ever get the third part of his trilogy now; I've been waiting over 20 years for it!

I check every so often to see if PLF is still with us and whether the 3rd part of his trilogy was coming out.

You can't be too saddened by his death; 96 is a good age, and what a life.

Two of the best books I've ever read. He was a friend of Bruce Chatwin -another good author.
