Ask your offspring what they think as it's their day and thay might have thoughts on the matter.
Enjoy feeling and looking very proud of your son / daughter, and enjoy the day.
everyone dresses in different stuff. some people make no effort, where others do. the official photos after cost a bomb, so make sure you look your best. at mine lots of people wore flamboyant national dress, it was an 'anything goes policy...' which was nice as everyone felt comfortable!
graduations are similar to weddings; some make the effort, others don't. but i'm all for bringing back hats!!! they are brilliant. maybe you could start a trend. wear what you want and don't follow the crowd!
I'd echo too sentiments from above:
- Some people will, most won't.
- Your child has worked very hard for this day to come and, though you are proud of them, it's THEIR day (even if you basically paid for it!!!). I was really stressed out on my graduation, and luckily my parents didn't make things worse (for once). I would say to ask your clever offspring "Do you think I should wear a hat?" and do your best to get the subtle hint if they're trying to say "no"!
Congratulations to your "child" (young adult now of course!) - I'm sure you're really proud of them!
