No matter what the problem, in all walks of life, when you drill down to the core of the matter it's a lack of consideration for others that's at the bottom of the issue. Why do people shout, swear, rant and rave instead of quietly trying to resolve their problem by negociation and by considering the other persons point of view?
Not everyone's like that. There was a man in the bank this morning who'd clearly had duff service on earlier visits - he stated his case very clearly and firmly, and came away with a satisfactory conclusion. No need to throw a wobbly.
i think that's what many people do, and when they get nowhere, get frustrated, annoyed and then starts the meltdown. This is not an ideal world, with clear sighted individuals, but emotional beings with a will and view of their own.
I agree. I think there should be one crime, that of bad manners...everything, theft, racism, abuse, violence, vandalism spring from a lack of consideration for others
i agree, but unless the laws over litter, dog poop, and bad behaviour is enforced, tightened up, and people learn to think before they speak, not an easy thing for most, then not sure what can be done.

Here's a point of view - not one that I think is right, but one I think occurs quite a lot.
I think the increase in the ranting / raving / shouting correlates reasonably well to the decline in customer services. In most places these days (restaraunts / shops / garages / call centres etc) service is so poor, and the staff indifferent at best - or are not empowered to provide good service, even if they want to.
I think a lot of the rants in these cases happen because people are frustrated with constant, constant poor service - in every walk of life.
