Can anyone point me in the direction of a device similar to the one used by Post Office Counters to check the dimensions of letters and packets please?
Thanks.

Seem to be quite a few on e-bay.
I seem to remember that Royal Mail supplied free cardboard measures.

I must be putting in a bad description spudqueen, I'll try again. I remember that too euphemia, back when the PO abandoned all attempt to supply a service. The counter operative told me to look on the website and now I'm here. :)
Thanks for taking the time.
I'm sure that I've seen them in Staple but I can't find one on their website. (If you've got a branch close to you it might be worth checking though). Otherwise any decent independent office stationer should be able to supply what you want.

Many thanks Chris, you don't happen to know the actual name of the device, my mental thesaurus is smouldering.
It's probably because I don't know the name of the things that I couldn't find them on the Staples' website!

I've got this one:

I've very pleased with it. (Hope the link works).
The free one supplied by the Royal Mail is document ref RMJ035A5. I don't know if it is still available.
I was given a free cardboard one by my local post office, I use it all the time to work out my own postage for ebay.
I asked for one at my local post office but received a blank look. The assistant knew nothing about them.

My thanks to you all. Mrs Chappie, that's a belter, scotman and The Winner I've drawn a blank with the PO too but I have sourced a smaller version by Helix from Amazon, should be here Wednesday.
Again, grateful thanks. :)
I bought two - one for myself and one as a present for my sis. Thought it was an ideal pressie for someone who has everything.
