OK everyone who has helped, number 19, this is still getting me in a mess. Card game of chance, it's said, presents surprisingly fiery reaction. 8&7.

I have worked it out to Pharoah's serpent...what the heck is that, I have never heard of it except they had one on the headress?????? I am very confused and it's my last one. HELP PLEASE.

It's a firework (look in a dictionary) - the pharaoh is obviously the 'one in charge'.

Chambers defines it as "the coiled ash of burning mercuric thiocyanate"!

If you dont spell Pharaoh correctly you wont get it right anyway. I could not beleive that the a comes before the o until I checked in Chambers

Thanks everyone for the explanation, I don't lke fireworks and so would'nt have known, very obscure. I also only have a Collins Dictionary and can usually get by with it but it did'nt have that in it. I must put Chambers on my list for Father Christmas this year.
