The best way I know is to put hair conditioner on and then comb it through with a nit comb. It's supposed to make the hair slippery and the nits come away.
the ONLY way to get rid of nits is by using a medicated shampoo which you can obtain from your pharacist. combing with conditioner only removes lice, nits are 'glued' to the hair shaft. my granny is a nit nurse and something of an authority on the matter. when you treat the person who has the nits you should also treat all members of the household ideally.
Hi Baronvhb - does your granny know you're telling the world she's a nit nurse? I'm not a nit nurse, I'm not a nurse, but I have successfully eradicated the critters with NO medicated products, just using cheap conditioner and dedicated combing every couple of days until they're all gone away...
but within that couple of days the nits turn to kice and infect other people who can then reinfect you, thus the cycle continues. yes my granny knows i tell people she was a nit nurse, she tells them herself, their identities were not kept classified. incidentally i am a nurse.
