Ever walked around supermarket and opened and used/ate/drank something in your trolley before you'd got to the checkout?

I had to open a box of tissues in Waitress today. Thankfully they were very gracious about it.

I asked about try before you buy with the girl trading on my street corner, but she was havnig none of it.

Opening a pack of tissues if you have a runny nose is not so bad but to eat a piece of fruit or a sandwich etc is shoplifting.

Yeah but you have to go for 3 for the price of 2. I can't afford a year in advance.

It is only shoplifting if you don't intend to pay. Putting the packaging through the checkout is fine, unless the item is charged by weight such as a banana.
