I have a cordless BT studio3500 and as soon as I want to use it there is such a racket and cannot here anything above it. I have n extension phone upstairs and this is OK so am wondering if it is the handset and is there anything I can do to get back to normal. I haveSky using this line and it is fine. Any help or where to look greatly appreciated

Try swopping the phones over, see if the problem moves with the phone or stays with the socket.

If it is the phone you can try to see if it can be repaired, but in my experience this is a sling and replace society and it's cheaper and easier to go get a new one.

When I change it over it still has the racket so think the problem is the handset So you may be right and it is a throw out but thanks any way
I have the cordless BT Graphite and the main handset is always playing up. I take the battery out for 30 secs and put it back and it rights itself. This might not solve your problem though.
my line has a really really loud electronic noise on it - i tested the line via bt.com and it said it was fine. I plugged another (different)phone in and it's fine
