should i be worried?

reading through the leaflet on some new medication it says the following

side effects
contact your doctor at once if you get

abdominal pain, disturbed vision, feeling sick, ringing in the ears,
total blindness, rashes, loss of consciousness, shock due to heart
problems, death

i wonder who writes these things, and hope you notice the last bit.

I took some pills this year which indicated short-term memory loss as a side-effect - and it happened. My brain closed down, fortunately only for an hour, but it rather alarmed my family.

islasmum quinine tablets, for muscle cramps, which have been quite bad, and it's there in black and white, as i read through these leaflets, i could post the list of all the other side effects, but that would a very long list, and picked out what i thought was strange, and the last one, which i have already commented on

Thanks em10, I'll remember to avoid quinine in future - I don't drink tonic water any more either!
