Until recently I had a fuji mx 500 digital camera a good allrounder but recently smashed it, it had a very good battery life on it, and i want to invest in a decent digital camera with an equally good battery life on it, I dont want to make the same mistake as my father inlaw and brother inlaw and buy one in which the batteries dont need changing every 5 minutes, can anyone recommend one please.

just make sure you get a 4 battery one; the 2battery cameras do a tradeoff for less weight but it's not working. my cameras are Fuji. Averagely and using LCD i get about 200 pics per load with Nimh, then i slow charge them overnite.

thank you for your advice xyzzy@bok but the fuji one I had was only a 2 pencil battery type, I assume the more advanced they become they use more power, once again thanx and I shall keep your advice in mind.
I am very happy with my Nikon Coolpix2500. It's compact, but has a decent range of settings, and a fully charged battery has lasted for 100+ shots using the flash for each one (sorry I can't tell you how long the battery life is in total as I've yet to drain the battery). was taken using the camera (she could do with a few more votes), and all the photos here http://www.chaosuk.net/ are taken with the camera. Bear in mind that the Chaos pictures are taken in a club with constantly changing (low) lighting and loads of smoke that tends to reflect the flash.
I have a Canon Powershot and Canon have their own rechargable battery packs (like camcorder ones but smaller). Mine lasts pretty long and i'm very satisfied with the picture quality. Not to mention its a sexy little beast compared to some of these montsrous cameras nowadays. Just my opinions.
