I need some ideas, of what I can do with crab meat.

I can't have butter, or any kind of sauces.
Can have any spices (though not really sure that would work), herbs and salt/pepper. Can also have veg.

Thanks :-)

Thai crab cakes...
in wraps with shredded cucumber and lettuce and chilli sauce
Crab & sweetcorn soup.
My Wife puts it on toast. Says it's great (shudder).
No sauces!

How do you make Thai crab cakes? They sound lush, but I have a strong feeling they will be out...
Forgot to mention I can't have any carbohydrates, either. Well, I can have most vegetables, but nothing like potatoes.
Basically, I've got 100g of crab meat, and I suppose I just want to know what I could put on it to make it taste less "plain".

Sorry to be so vague, but I've never actually had crab before and, as I only get 100g, I don't want to mess it up and then be starving!

Thanks :-)
There are loads on google. The ones I do don't have potato in them.

I'll have a look...

Are you on a diet?
Question Author
Ohh, no potato? That's brilliant... thanks :-)

Yeah, unfortunately so. Can only have 500 cals a day, so carbs and sauces are out :-(
Well chilli quickens your metabolic rate...so have it really spicy.
Here's one....And there's loads others on the BBC site if you search 'crab cakes'

Stuffed sweet red pepper. Mix with with Mayo or yoghurt, finely chopped veg etc, lots of paprika. Chill and serve.

Oh really? Never knew that. Will be making everything extra spicy from now on, then! :-)

Thanks for the link, I'll have a gander...
Question Author
Thanks, Scotman.

I can have paprika and sweet pepper, so I'll do that.. just won't have the mayo or yogurt.

Thanks all :-)

Sorry, Sprinter, I've only just seen your answer.
Yep, 500 cals. It's hard, I had to save them all up yesterday so I could have a couple of gins last night. *sigh*

9lbs down (in five days) just another 5 to go.... :-)
But doesn't it go straight back on when you start eating normally again?
No offence Flip but that sounds like the most stupid diet ever. And only effective if you carry it on for the rest of your life. Which won't be long if you don't eat anything every day.
Sounds like a vicious circle....

No diet works long term. The only thing that works long term is a change in lifestyle.
Also, unless you are severely over weight, which I don't believe you are then I don't think losing 9lbs in five days is healthy. You must absolutely no energy.
It won't be excess fat that's being lost. It'll be mainly fluids. The metabolic rate will slow down as the body goes into starvation mode. So when you do eat normally, or have a few gins, the body will hold onto those calories for dear life.
