Does anyone know if the hormones that change during the menopause are the same as those which change during pregnancy causing cravings and aversions ?
When I was pregnant - many moons ago! - I had a great aversion to booze of any kind and now I am going through the menopause I seem to be going the same way. Not a bad thing I suppose but just wondered.

I wish I knew lainiej, since giving up hrt a couple of months ago I've had some strange food and (non alcoholic) drink cravings!

I hardly have a drink at all now. Even if I occasionally fancy one, I cant finish it, and it brings on the dreaded flushes.
I was never much of a drinker so I've no idea if the menopause has affected me in that way but I have taken a strong aversion to certain smells and perfumes. I've had to ask my husband not to use certain shower gels and my daughter not to wear her favourite perfumes and I can only wear really light, flowery scents which I seldom ever used before.
I can't abide the smell of cucumber any more. I think it might well be linked to the menopause.
