Sorry shaneystar but on this occasion, you are wrong. I gave edgar stocks the information that he had a clue wrong which stopped him from getting an answer to another clue. By doing it this way, he had the opportunity to go back and have a look at the clue he got wrong - if he then got this clue then he may well not need the answer to the clue he asked for - so much more satisfying.

You may be a clever person, but when there is an opportunity to help someone WITHOUT giving the direct answer then that has to better for the person asking the question. Or do not consider that at all?

Edgar stocks could easily have come back had he failed to get 17 down and was thereby still stuck on 18 across but you gave him no chance of doing so. Just for once, and it is by no means getting at you as you are brilliant in replying quickly and correctly to many questions, but just for once - shame on you shaneystar - you failed to give edgar stocks an opportunity to finish the crossword himself - if you would not have felt somewhat disappointed were the situation one where YOU were asking the question and knew you had an answer wrong but had no time to correct it, then I would be very surprised.

Yes this IS answerbank but if we can help people finish crosswords puzzles etc themselves then it is surely right that we do so.
