download to i Pad 2
I need to down load from my camera to my iPad 2 but the card reader apple make is only for the american SF. I have a CF card and need to download. If I do it from my camera ( Canon 7d ) it takes forever. This is via the usb privided with iPad for charging.
When I try and use a card reader it tells me the battery cant support it.
Any suggestions? I dont particulary want to buy another device but as I am in a remte area of Botswana I should be able to use it???

This does seem to take quite a while I agree, there are 3rd party kits which take CF cards but these seem to have mixed reviews as to whether they work or not and since most come from China there seems to be very little come back. One option I have used is to get a CF/SD converter (adaptor the size of a CF card that you slot an SD into) and then use the SD reader with the iPad, downside is that it does slow down the card speed in the camera and again not all makes work :-( PS. SD is not an American only card but the most popular storage card format, Canon were just being a little awkward in only using CF for newer models such as the 7D
thanks fitzer.
I already have a cf to sd adaptor and it really doesnt work too well in fact I lose a lot of features. I work mainly in RAW photos and these are high end files but I have been told by canon to use only the CF 2 high speed cf cards which are just the job for iPads etc. Trouble is I have only 1GB old cards and I can see a big bill coming to upgrade!!
Thatwould seem the solution though.
Thanks again
