Washing machine trouble.

Further to my question yesterday about handwashing I wouldn't mind a bit of advice about my machine and what has actually happened to it.
3 times this week (though not every time I've used it), it has made a very loud crack sound and blown the electrics usually on the last spin. Yesterday it happened on the first so I immediately unplugged it. What could be wrong with it? Thanks in advance.

Sounds like it may have some dampness inside the electrics. really best not to use it until it has been checked, as although your trip is cutting in and shutting off the electrics, it may not on a minor leak of current and you could pick a serious electric shock.
