Looks like SERIAL
Question Author
Guess you are right. Many thanks SeaJayPea
<DIV>Sorry to disagree, but I thought of SERIAL too, but for some reason it didn't seem right. Then I came up with STREAM, i.e. "a stream of events". I personally feel happier with that, although I'm now having second thoughts about "serial". Anyone else have any suggestions please?

I didn't like serial as an answer either and was quite content to put stream BUT googling proves quite emphatically that it IS serial. This is from one of the dictionary/answer sites www.answer.com....... serial

<DIV>Reading the clue, though, my interpretation is that the answer should be a noun, not an adjective, hence "stream". I still can't make my mind up!

<DIV>Also, my Oxford dictionary gives the phrase "stream of events".

I am going with stream
On stream...

In or into operation or production :eg. a new power plant soon to go on stream.
Of successive events or ideas.
I also feel that the answer should be a noun therefore stream fits that criteria but now I too am having my doubts - guess I should settle on stream which feels right --- until I read all the explanations given by others - very confusing!!
