Oh. Surely one doesn't watch it for the host anyway. True they have to do a reasonable job so it doesn't send everyone to sleep, but the real reason to watch is Rachel (or before her, Carol).
I read in a paper (the Daily Recrod) that we was chosen for his 'dry wit'. Filming starts soon, but I guess we'll have to wait and see what January brings.
Then Sun Says it could be Jimmy Carr, God help us all, I was a regular viewer until Richard passed on - can't say i liked ANY replacements apart from The female Rachel Riley sort of
Never really watched The Apprentice however from the few fleeting glances that I have it seemed as though Mr Hewer had undergone a personality bypass procedure, though I could be proved wrong.
I wondered why this chap was picked, not that I've seen him "in action" so not sure what he's like but I thought someone with a more prominent profile might have got the job. Must say I shall be sad to see Jeff go after I didn't like him at first I found he was just right for the job IMO as time went on .
I certainly prefered Jeff to the previous two Des's. Don't know this new chap at all, perhaps that's why he got the job, being less well known I assume he'd be cheaper to employ.
Mr Hewer will be great for this (slightly dull) programme. His has a gentle but dry sense of humour and isn't bigger than the programme in the way that the more recent presenters have tended to be.
