For £3.99 a month AOL Computer check-up will speed up, and clean up all the problems you have with your PC. What does the team think? Take a look at AOL Homepage, at the bottom of the page and click on `Make my computer go faster` Seems worth the money if it `does what it says on the box`
Carlton, are you with AOL? I left them a couple of years ago, their customer service is zilch, and you never speak to anyone in UK. I wouldnt go back to them and wouldnt recommend them. BT are very good if your computer is running slowly, plus theirs is a Freephone call. AOL's isnt - or wasnt when I was with them.
When I first used the WWW 12 years ago my ISP was Compuserve. They were taken over by AOL Time Warner Rank Hovis McDougall Tesco. Now I'm not saying that there are not faster/slower/better ISPs out there, but I've never had a problem with AOL. Having said that, I don't use their Computer Checkup because I don't need it.
I feel they are cashing in. I have been with AOL since 2002 but just lately am absolutely fed up with their service and have been advised BT is very good. At one time AOL gave a free computer check service and I think its the same as what they are now trying to charge £3.99 a month i.e. defrag, disc clean-up etc. I just could not understand the accent of the AOL advisors when I needed phone help, I dont think English is their first language.
I've been with AOL since 2003 but I wouldn't pay money for this service. I've needed their technical help a few times over the last few months and although they are not English they've been very helpful and pleasant to deal with.
When I moved house I got a new router which was rubbish and have now just received a new, bigger one which is sadly giving me the same problems as the last one.
Could I puchase a better one and still pick up the AOl broadband on it?
