My doctor believes that my headaches are due to having a degenerated disc (c5-c6). The pain i feel is as if my full skull is being crushed as if there is too much pressure in there. Now and then they last for about 5 days and pain relief doesnt help. The question i am going to ask may seem silly but.......how can the doctor determine what if i have a brain annurism why cant he send me for a ct scan. i am due to get a second injection in my facet joint in a couple of weeks the 1st one didnt help.
The pain in my thigh (during the night) is getting worse too! think maybe i am falling to bits or have dodgy blood flow

Brain aneurysms are usually symptomless and if they do cause symptoms they are certainly not associated with headaches.

Now if the aneurysm bleeds, then this is a different kettle of fish, the headache is claustrophobic and devastating, leading to unconsciousness within minutes.

You must agree that you don't fit into the picture.
claustrophobic should read catastrophic.

thanks sqad! what about a build up of fluid. Dont understand what makes the skull crushing sensation of my skull. Its driving me nuts. I have extremly tight neck and shoulder muscles too particularly down the left which is the side im having my facet joint injection. I am quite stressed with uni worj at the moment so that probably doesnt help!
A build up of fluid in the skull(Brain) is always the last "port of call" and always secondary to a well established disease process with clear and obvious signs and symptoms other than headache.

So you don't fit into that group.

Degenerative disease of the cervical spine and/or tension can indeed explain your headaches.
Wise words from our Sqad. Stop worrying and imagining all sorts of things. I can assure you that spine problems in the upper back/spine can cause nasty headaches (I know from experience) You are also probably clenching your jaw all the time which won't help.

Dodgy blood flow, brain annurism.................. ? My goodness you will worry yourself to an early death.

You are not being silly asking, you are just worked up and stressed.

This might sound silly, but it might help you to get out and go for a destressing walks in the fresh air. It really does help.

Good luck.
