Can anyone tell me what would be the English translation of 'clos luce', the place where Leonardo Da Vinci spent the last years of his life.

Seems 'clos' was originally from Château de Cloux, and Cloux was the family or place name for which I can't find any meaning. Luce means 'light' and was also used as a boy or a girl first name.

on first glance, i read the title as 'cos lettuce' and wondered why it was in the history section. really must get another eye test....:)

The Oratory of the Château de Cloux, built for Anne of Brittany, houses frescos by pupils of Leonardo. Over the doorway is the fresco of 'The Virgin of the Light' also known as Virgo Lucis, which gives rise to the name Clos Lucé.

Clos could well be derived from the original Cloux but it also literally means 'enclosure' such as a walled estate.
