Back Arrow Problem

Give us back our 'Back Arrow', I know there is an 'official thread' for this issue, but many have used this thread to voice their frustrations on this problem, also on the Avatar problem, but they have not received an up to date answer from you.

So please Ed can we now have one?

We've got one, AOG, I saw it as soon as I logged back in - a huge stripe of back arrows above the AB logo. What more can you want!

Well for a start I would like someone to give me an answer to the problem, without them assuming that just because they have "a huge stripe of back arrows above the AB logo", others also have.

I think it's just IE users who have the custom-made back arrows. Are you still having problems on Firefox? You might try contacting the Ed about this if he doesn't see this post, as I think he was under the impression that only IE had the problem.

Meanwhile you can right-click on the Firefox back arrow, or just right click in any blank area on the page (any page, not just AB) and you'll get a list starting with "Back".

As far as I can see avatars are still a problem.

Keep on bringing the problem up on Editor's Blog but there is no sign of him, is he on holiday?

I'm sure he's not on hol, but weekend Ed seems to do different things than Weekday Ed.

aog...I am annoyed that the Ed appears to have been ignoring the issues concerning the 'back arrow' and 'avatars'. Unfortunately, if it's true what I have heard, the poor chappie is in hospital. It seems that, whilst at gnome in his garden, an irate ABer shot him with a few arrows.

aog, do you get anything at all if you right-click on a blank part of the page? (that is, not on something that is already a link where a little hand comes up.)

I get a list of options on Firefox, IE and Chrome. On each one, "Back" is the top item, and allows me to go back a page.

because people's back buttons haven't been working, snags... at one stage the problem seemed to be that IE had started reading AB ads as separate pages, and clicking the button took you nowhere. That has been fixed on IE (allegedly) but is still a problem for some people like aog on Firefox.

I can only go back one page when using IE and that is only if I use the string of arrows above the AB logo. Fortunately, the default Browser on my Desktop computer is Firefox 8 and I do not have the difficulty of going back pages; but I do have the problem with FF7.0.1 on my laptop.

It is still my opinion that AB has a Server Error and I am open to my view be proved wrong . However, not a single Techie has disputed my way of thinking.:-

Incidentally, AB appears to be further malfunctioning today. Speed is slow and once came to an almost full stop.

it has been pretty slow, Ron. Maybe that's the usual Sunday problem of being swamped with crossword questions.

Have you thought of installing Firefox on your laptop too,s ince you're already familiar with it?

It certainly has been very slow today. I don't see what the big deal is - I used the bank of arrows to go back on AB, and my browser back button for everything else.

Not at the moment jno, as I very rarely use the Laptop for AB and it works fine on all other sites.

Anyway, why should anyone have to change the Browsers they are happy with, when the problem seems to rest with AB.....A view shared by other AB members.
