The older one has the clock behind the laminated wood that stretches across the upper part of the dashboard. Unfortunately it's held in by steel clips which means that you have to lever the wood out.
So, get a very good screwdriver/lever and push it is as far as possible behind the wood at the passenger door end (do this from the passenger side with door open). Once the screwdriver is behind then gently lever it against the dash until the wood starts to come out. As soon as there's a big enough gap then put the rest out with your fingers. You can then detach the clock wire and replace the bulb. The bulb is a bayonet fitment and simply fits into the back of the clock. If you need to replace the whole clock then I think this screws onto a bracket.
Please Note: If you don't put the screwdriver/lever far enough behind the wood then you will break the enamal finish/or even wood laminate. I used to hate replacing these bulbs for this reason and although I replaced loads and loads I did break one piece of wood!
