My nine year old grandson phoned me a few minutes ago to ask for help
with his homework. Afraid Cupid04 wasn't much good so I'm enlisting your help. The question just says:- Personify fear.

Thankyou, any more please?
The wind seeming to howl your name.

The shadow of the tree on your bedroom wall, takes on a human shape.

Thankyou atrollope, mamyalynne and bibblebub. Have just phoned him
back and given him your answers. He says thankyou very much. Off to
see him and his brother and two sisters tomorrow. They've got a day off
because their teachers are on strike.
Yes all mine are off too, good fun for them at least.
Hello You Clever Lot!
Kids have one major obstacle to get round...it's called school! Once they leave formal education the real world beckons and the real education begins!
Fear creeping up the back of your spine?
when the brain does not process that the dark shadow is nothing to be scared of, the adrenaline kicks in, sending the heart racing, which in turn pumps more blood, causing the heart to race even faster, fear is the factor, and it can control your life.
May I say what a daft question for a 9 year old. it's really hard to understand. Personify means 'represent in human form' so bibble's bogeyman is one (or is it, a bogeyman is scary but does it represent fear?) I can't think of another mind you.
its the trees in a wood crowding round you as you run to escape

I thought it was weird too, but I've seen some of his homework even down
to the way they're taught arithmetic. What was wrong with simple hundreds,
tens and units? His mum phoned me the other night about long division
sums. The method they use is called chunking [I think] I looked it up on the
internet and I was none the wiser!
Things hiding under the bed, which get you when you turn out the light.
Personification is not just relating something in human form , any reference to nature etc.. too is included.
fear- when the back of your head goes numb
Strictly speaking, if you want to 'personify fear' that is different to personifying someone or something frightening.

Can't think of a specific character who does that

But the stereotype would be someone pale, shaking, sweating etc
I love the chunking method cupid! Only way I can do division with big numbers as long division never made sense to me!
Chunking? The kids round here use calculators - I think there is one on their mobiles. I can't see them ever working anything out in their heads or on paper. Too easy with the calculator.
To be fair starbuckone; I think that people take advantage of technology in so many ways but then look down on people who use calculators; we don't do the same with using the phone over sending a telegram!
fear personified = the cowardly lion, surely! If you disagree with me then put 'em uuup, put 'em uuup!!
