Oh nooo! jno, Attenborough wouldn't know how dumb down.
I used to tell them I had a black and white radio, sandy, but did they believe me?

LOL. They didn't believe me either.
No, they don't believe me either. So I said "go ahead, serve your wretched summons and I will call every magistrate and every solicitor who attended my "leaving ****" party to give evidence that I DON'T LIVE THERE ANYMORE AND I TOOK MY TV WITH ME". It's actually gone quite quiet recently.
One can only assume, Barmaid, that it is cheaper to send this avalanche of mail to an empty house than to come and have a look. I look after a house which is not lived in and just recycle the darn things
you watch telly you pay licence simple really! dont pay get fined not really rocket science
Barmaid -

I was harrassed for six months a few years ago when got rid of my TV. The licencing man would knock at least twice a week. I would let him in, he would look around - even in the kitchen cupboards! - then leave saying "I'm going to get you! I know you've got a TV in here somewhere!" I tried to convince him anyway I could and I invited him to sit outside all he liked with his detector van as I didn't have a TV but he kept saying "Rubbish! Everyone has a TV". I started to wonder if he had a psychiatric problem as he was so nasty and obviously obsessed with the matter.

In the end I went to a solicitor and he wrote a letter threatening legal action if the harrassment didn't stop. It cost me £50 but I never saw the TV man again.
I pay mine by DD every month it doesn't hurt as much. Otherwise I would have to have myself sectioned (they would have free TV there wouldn't they?). Or stop using it until I reach 75, then it will be free. I hate paying it because I hardly ever watch it, MrAsk watches Skysport all the time.
Do you still need a license if you only watch programmes via computer?
Sory, maggie, they've got you - what did you expect?

they should warn us they're about to hit our bank accounts, though...
Go to the USA or the Caribbean and watch their TV and you'll realise how good our TV is in comparison. Well worth the money in my opinion.

Is it a genuine email? I wouldn't expect them to notify you in that way
I don't pay it, we can't get a signal in my house :c)
Question Author
It is genuine. In part it read: 'This is the last day your home will be licensed.'
