WHAT IS THE POINT OF TPS? THEY STILL CALL EVERY EVENING AND SIMPLY APOLOGISE WHEN I TELL THEM I AM TPS REGISTERED.
Also, is this the right topic heading for this?

Sorry about the shouting above, I feel a little better now.

Who calls every evening? The same company?
TPS are calling you?
I don't think the TPS covers calls from overseas - can you tell where your evening calls are from ?

Sorry, a bit of a hasty post due to anger.
BOO - No, different companies but do I have to wait until they've all called and apologised individually?
jno - See above. 'They' was shorthand for 'The Blighters' (or similar).
Ouzel - All UK based. They do apologise but my point is they should check their database BEFORE calling me - I've been registered for > 5 years.
You need to report those companies to the TPS if they call you.
We've actually paid for a subscription (£40pa) to the Caller Preference Service and we get very few cold calls these days. If we do, we report the number to the CPS and they contact the companies for us, and can prosecute for nuisance calling if it persists.
The people who are calling you, Captain, won't mind if you are TPS registered, if it's from overseas they can still get through. It's the TPS you should complain to. Dial 1471 after each nuisance call, to get the caller number, if they've not blocked it.
it takes some time to kick in because lists are sold ages before they are used!

when did you apply?
you also need to re-apply (for free) at regular intervals to stay off lists!
they probably have an old list, bought before you got tps
You never need to pay for the service, its free and works well. Re-register now just to make sure you on the list and if in 7 days time you get any calls, complain to the link jno posted.

Works for me...........
i ve been complaining too this last 2 months i'm getting marketing calls daily with either northern Irish or north east accents normally to do with claiming money, insulation etc and ive been with tps for 15 years ?
thinking of getting a number change going x directory and rejoining tps with a new number
... I still say it's worth paying the 40 quid to CPS. We've had no problems in the last 3 years since we joined.
