how to leave virgin media

I am having difficulty trying to change my broadband supplier,waiting ages on the phone,and not being able to send an email. I fully intend to switch to BT for my phone and my broadband.it would appear to me that it is not going to be easy, has anybody out there got any advice,? thank you.

I used to have Virgin broadband a few years ago and I left them by phone without any problems but maybe it was easy because I was leaving on amicable terms or I caught them on a good day.

I left vm as often no broadband at weekends. Offered two pounds compensation one day! Now with bt which is working out ok with home hub and wifi at bt hotspots. Used to have virgin phone as well so just called direct to operator and got press 4 if you are thinking of leaving us or something similar. Bt is working out cheaper too.
