J Clarkson is an opinionated bigot, who thinks he is funnier than he is.
Yes of course nobody should take this seriously but it does cause offence to many and therefore his comments (and in his opinion his jokes) shold be restricted to his close friends(if he has one)

People like Clarkson and Ross know exactly what they are doing and should be removed from the public arena so that the rest of us don't have to write comments like this. I wonder how Clarkson would react if his wealth was suddenly removed ??
Agreed!!
I seeJanmarie has left us already.
I assume everyone else knows what a ross'e was then (Jonathon Ross?). I'm out of my depth here.
Why should anyone want to suddenly, or otherwise, remove Clarkson's wealth?
I said he'd be mightily peed off dave....as he's earned his money.
jack... because, as with the royal family, I provided it in the first place? I think I'm at least entitled to take some interest in where it goes.
To 'Marlboro' country, mostly, I think, jno.
Actually Jan does have a point. When Muslim protesters call for the death of British soldiers, or death to Britain, we have umpteen posts here defending their right to 'freedom of speech', but when Jeremy Clarkson says something that he clearly doesn't mean to be taken seriously, people cry 'offence'. It seems 'freedom of speech' isn't a luxury that we are all are at liberty to indulge in.
Getting your trousers in a knot over 'Freedom of speech' and using Clarkson as an example diminishes and trivialises *proper* Freedom of speech issues.

And flinging 'Hamza' into a thread about Clarkson is an utter nonsense.

I believe that there is a discussion to be had on FoS, but it certainly shouldn't hang on whatever Clarkson has said!!
Jack, if you're talking to me, I'm not suggesting it hangs on what Clarkson said - merely pointing out the ridiculous inconsistency in some people's attitudes.
I'm not so sure there is inconsistency in peoples attitudes... the people getting outraged about clarkson would be the same people that get outraged on demand about other matters the DM sees fit to make it's outrage generator of the week.
Sorry, naomi, my post does read like that, doesn't it? It wasn't aimed at you....

I was agreeing that anyone who thinks that Hamza should be muzzled but that JC has a 'right' to FoS.....or vice versa, has got their thinking very muddled.
At least Clarkson isn't serious
Clarkson for PM?
Chuck, looking at some of the stuff that's been posted over the past couple of days, and the names of some of the posters, not necessarily.

OK, Jack, thanks. :o)

I like Ross'e.
Said it before and I'll say it again - he's a prize pr*** !!!
I like Jeremy Clarkson but then he's a fan of the EU

//I'd make Europe one big country. We'd be a country to be reckoned with by other nations. So the next time America says,"We're doing this," the richer and more successful Europe would say,"I don't think you are, actually," and they'd have to kowtow to us.
As a rule, the quality of British MPs isn't very good-there are one or two decent ones, but they're mainly useless. One central government in Brussels would be better: we could do away with parish councils, borough councils, regional assemblies and Westminster, and the huge wedding cake of unnecessary administration that they engender.A united Europe is a great goal //
