Told my daughter the truth about Santa......

Well she's 7.5 now and has been questioning everything about him etc. Strongly suggesting for weeks that she 'knows'. So last night she told me all her friends had said he isnt real and its mum and dad who buy you stuff really! I asked her if she thought it was true and whether she'd be upset if it were true. No, she replied as long as I get presents I dont care!
I asked if she wanted the truth and she said yes so I told her. My OH wasnt impressed but she's not bothered at all and even asked why we'd lied to her about Santa before. Would you have lied?

I never told my daughter. From about 10 till 12 we would mention him and she would smirk like she was in on the joke and then after that we would just not bring up the S word at Xmas.
