Yep - but are they books or is a book something with pages and a cover, usually paper in origin? I'm not being clear - is what one reads on a kindle still described as a 'book'?

yes, or, an E-book if you want to sound like a techie.

i don't actually say i'm reading a book, i just say i'm reading 'insert title here'.
my kindle is wonderful and marvellous. to anyone who thinks they need the feel, smell, taste, whatever, of a 'real' book, forget it, kindle is the way forward. if you get one, you'll never regret it.

I'm with Eth. I thought I'd miss an actual paper book, but I don't, not in the slightest- the kindle reigns supreme in the Boo household.

I'm not a great reader but OH is and he loves his kindle. I love it because there's so much space in our holiday luggage now that I can fil it with 'stuff' to bring home!

I sent my kindle back, but Mrs V and Miss V love theirs.

I have the kindle software on my PC, and read kindle books on it.

I get colour that way, too ....
