Do the ticks affect they're writing or typing as in do they write or type what they've physically just said or write and type as normal?

This is not meant to cause any offence but i do not know anyone with tourettes so please forgive any ignorance on my part.

No I dont think they do, I think with regards to the vocalising it is just a vocal problem, they wouldn't write it as well.
I think the vocalising is a bit like an itch that you cant scratch, the word builds and build until you have to let go of it by shouting or vocalising, I dont think writing it would be the same thing at all.
Only about 10% of people with Tourettes have coprolalia (involuntary swearing). They do not write the words as their compunction is to vocalise.
Whilst I have no expertise of this problem it always seem probable to me that some part of the subconscious caused all the twitching and shouting, whist the conscious probably was horrified at what was happening. I'm not managing to visualise a building up as such. It'd be interesting to see an expert's description.
Ratter's description is pretty much spot on OG. It has also been likened to one of those sneezes that builds up for ages that you really wish would just happen.
Ah ok. One learns something new every day. Thanks.
I have this incurable condition and it does affect my f***ing typing as well.

Hope this helps.
