i am making a slideshow, using Photostage Slideshow, but i want to be able to burn it onto a disc and send it to anyone and have them able to play it - either on a computer or on a dvd player

will they need to have the same software installed on their machine?

if not what is the best file format for me to do that?

or am i best using powerpoint? will this be likely to play on any machine?

thanks

No .. Powerpoint needs an Office app. ... or Powerpoint Viewer from MS.
App would have to be included in/on the disc.

Check IrfanView .. that will make an executable slideshow .. which may do what you need.

Yes ... and the resolution will be absolutely crap. 720x576 maximum.
Stick to proper photo files.
or Microsoft Photostory, free download, very simple to use, includes copyright-free music effects, captions, or you can narrate over it.

You can try the DVD Slideshow Builder, which can help you make wonderful slideshow and burn it on DVD disc directly.
