I have just watched 'Shall We Dance' with Fred Astaire and Gingers Rogers which was made in 1937. A lot of the action is on board an ocean liner sailing from Europe to New York. At one point it is advertised on board that a plane will be leaving the ship to take airmail to New York, and then you see a plane leaving the ship. Could this have really happened? Or was it just a silly plot of the film?
