I always thought Brabantia .. whatever the name is .. were the best.
Yes Brabanitia. On the rare occasions cans need to be opened. But what's is in cans these days except Aldi's wonderfull baked beans?
I've got one of these (or rather, its predecessor) and it is absolutely brilliant!

I've had a Kenwood electric can opener for years. I wouldn't go back to a manual one now.
Agree with above. Brabantia for manual and Kenwood for electric. Your choice.
good old butterfly one, 50p at wilkos, lasted me ages
How are you defining 'best'? I have been using the old manual butterfly type, usually made by Squires, for years now.
Whatever you do don't get one of those one touch can openers such as the one by Culinaire. The design is very poor, at the weekend my mum's one ran out of batteries whilst in operation, but as you have to remove the bottom to replace the batteries, you can't do it when it is still attached to a can, which resulted in her wasting a tin of salmon as there was no way to get the damn thing off.

Had an old butterfly type for at least 30 years. Still works perfectly.
Yes Brabantia.
