hi, just wanted to share, the wind is soo powerfull that my living room has a leak on top, whenever the wind blows, rain water enters through a crack on top of the window. im terrified window will come down. and i have 2 little kids, right now im preying that the gale will slow down!! and i had my double done 3 years ago, its not like very old windies!!
please wish me good luck that my big window will stay intact. x

thanks to everyone, atalanta , i have contents and building insurance but i dont know if i will be covered because it is a storm and not accidental damage. and the storm is still very powerfull, at least window is still ok, maybe cos im preying all the time :))
Storm damage is usually covered mk. At least I hope so as half my neighbours roof is residing on my path and broken my guttering on the way :o(
you will be ok - just look after the wee ones and make it as "fun" as possible - I have lived through 2 Cat 3 hurricanes and it isnt fun for the adults.....you should be nearly through....

Frightening some of the news coming in - now Yorkshire, Cumbria and Northumberland and I suspect the Highlands must be hell.
feel sorry for Aberdeenshire tonight/tomorrow when they get snow combined with 80mph winds :o(
Your insurance should cover you if the leak was caused by the winds....you said accidental damage?........anyway, good luck and make sure you keep the kids and yourself away from the window till it blows over hopefully later tonight or tommorrow.

Ring Insurance company as soon as weather settles, to arrange quick fix of leak before another storm arrives this winter.

As i said, I wish you all the best, mk :0)
Here in Northumberland, my lights keep flashing! Now where did I put those candles?
hope the wind dies down soon for you, my in-laws are just over the forth bridge and received some damage.

a cleverly applied bit of mastic should resolve your leaky window!
look after yourself, Chrissa.....
p.s...Oh i gotcha with the accidental damage....thought you meant the leak was caused by it........you should be covered for 'Storm Damage', mk.....check the policy details for clarification :0)

Did you get a guarantee when you had your DG done. I got a 10 year one with mine. Hope you'll be OK. Its really windy here in Yorkshire, the rain has found it's way in through my letter box. At least I can mop that up. Best of luck mk1975.
its quieter now, thank goodness. a bit wild for a few hours though.
I'm amazed my driveway gates are still on their hinges............
