Responding to "Friend Request" on Facebook
9 Answers
If you "respond" to a friend request on Facebook, is that the same as accepting the request, or can you ask the person something like "who are you" or "why do you want to friend me", etc. first? I don't want to click on "respond" and let this person be my friend, since I'm not sure I know them. (I could know her, she may have gotten married, but I don't recognise the surname).

Just accept them, go through their profile, photos etc and if you dont know them get rid

Well I've just discovered, actually, no one on here was correct. When you click on "Respond", you only have two choices, "Accept" or "Report/Block". So in the end I chose to "Accept", but then put the woman on "Restricted" (Which for anyone who doesn't know, like I didn't until today, click on the "Friends" tab on the person's page, and then click on "Restricted". They can then only see what you have allowed to be publicly seen.)
