hi maggie,just go into the bookies,write the horses,time and meeting down on a betting slip and put your stake down..e.g a 20p lucky 15 will be £3.00..or a £1.00 e/w accumulator would be £2.00...it depends on how much you want to stake maggie..but dont be putting your shirt on them lol..

Okay, so you go to the bookies, and take a slip of paper from the little piles scattered around the place.

On it, you write ... (for example)

Cheltenham 9/12/11
£2 edgardo sol (12.35)
£2 thatlldoboy (13.10)
£2 shakalakaboomboom (13.45)
£2 uncle junior (14.20)
£2 oscargo (14.55)
Total stake £10

Then you go up to the counter, like at a post office, and hand over your slip, and a tenner.

The bookie scans your slip, and gives you a copy.

Then you go home, and check on here later to see if any of them have won. If they have, you go back and collect your cash.

If you become a regular (like me and Stokey), the bookie mighr make you a cup of coffee while you're in there.

Okay, so my bets are a bit more basic that Stokey's coz I don't really understand all the complexities.

By the way ... in my experience, if you bet on ALL of Stokey's tips, you will win some, and not others, but on balance you will win more than you lose.

I hope this isn't tempting fate!

Don't forget to leave the cashiers a tip if you have a big win for there help. It's the bookies that make the money not the cashiers. But keeps my daughter in a job.
