Here in the western U.S., I have eight pair of shoes in the closet, 4 of which are treasured and worn cowboy boots one of which is an ultra-treasured handmade and fitted, 16 inch top, classic cowboy under-cut 3 inch heel, bull leather crafted by by Roberto Vasquez, a 90 year old boot maker in Guanajuato, Mexico whose wife, Agriciana always has an ancient pot of frijoles on the wood cook stove and a supply of large tortillas so thin one can read a newspaper through them in the warming oven. Nothing better, except for Mrs. C's coffee (and Mrs. C), Mr. Boeing's fine airplanes and the view of the mountains out the kitchen window... life is good...
