I have arranged to have the day off work on Friday and my Dad has just informed me that he has arranged for a gift to be sent to me, at work on Friday (I'm pretty confident it's flowers). He says he has looked and he can't change the delivery details and I don't think there will be anybody else in on Friday so it seems my choices are cancel my day off - which I really don't want to do - or leave my Dads gift to be undelivered (not sure what they will do if they can't deliver) - which I dont' want to do either.

What would you do?

Is there definitely nobody in the place where you work on Friday? If you think it is flowers it is most likely arranged to go from a local florist, so you could ring the florist/s near where you work and tell them the problem if it is coming from them maybe.

Can't you ring up the sender and ask for a redirection?

Well he doesn't want me to know what it is so he won't tell me who the sender is, I just have a strong suspicion it's flowers. He's told me he has checked and he cant' change anything.

There is the off chance someone might go into the office in the afternoon but I know one of the guys rearranged the delivery of some materials for Monday as I won't be there on Friday when they were supposed to be around which sort of confirms that most of the day the office will be empty.

My Dads kind of *** with me about it now :(

I could if I really need to OG but it sort of defeats the object of why I want tomorrow off - plus it means other deliveries to work would have to be re-arraned again.

I have been a bit sneaky and took the assumption he probably ordered from Interflora. On their site all you need is the e-mail address to track a delivery so now I can see there is one on there being made up currently I will try and call them later this morning and see if there is anything they can do.

He's not really a control freak, he's just trying to do something nice for me and is a littled pissed off that's it's not going to work out as planned.

Interflora usually use florist shops, they probably won't make the order up til today or even tomorrow (well I'd hope that was the case) unless it's coming fom one of their production lines and being couriered to you.
