must be good their out of stock :)
If you google London solar lights they are available at other places. I have seen them on Ebay too.
CEF sell good quality brand.
Will look for catalogue and post later if I can find it.
I use their garden feature lamps (with spike)

cheers
I'm fed up of how short a time these type of lights last before they stop working. I have 4 out the front and 6 out the back, and I think only about 2 (both out back) are still working a year later.

That stated, at around £15 each, maybe those recommended ones would do better. Have to let us know.

yeah I need them to give a reasonable amount of light to guide me in the dark up some garden steps to the house. There are some street lights but far away so not too great. The plan is to have mains powered garden lights when the garden is landscaped but until then I need a temporary light source over the dark winter nights. When I get closer to the house I have PIR light so that should pick me up, but by the car and steps nothing. I think my head torch will come in useful :)
I have never found any solar powered lights that actually light up their surroundings, only themselves as a marker. And yes they don't last long and are quite temperamental.
Because you all buy the crappo cheapo Chinese ones!
like .. £10 for three : )
Even the more expensive ones I got from QVC failed to last that long. They look fine, but only two light any longer.
They usually come fitted with cheapo low capacity (600/800mAh) re-chargeable batteries fitted. I fitted mine with Energiser 2400mAh batteries instead and it's made a world of difference. That said, rechargeable batteries don't work well in freezing winter temperatures, and to protect them, some advise bringing the lamps indoors in the dead of winter. Also, the low angle of the sun at this time of year means they won't charge nearly as much as in the summer months.

thanks
In the same vein, are the strings of solar Christmas lights any good? Do any of you fellow ABers have them? Am thinking of buying some, as fed up with replacing the others so regularly.
