lol SC - that reminds me, when I was teaching myself to paint I nearly sold one of my pictures on the side of a loch in Scotland. I thought it was crap, the American lady looking over my shoulder thought it was brilliant.
I never worked out whether she was stupid or sarcastic when she said "i lurve the way you have merged the sea into the sky". (the fact that it was a loch and not the sea led me to the former conclusion)
I wanted to say "that's because I'm crap and the colours ran you daft cow!!"
When she asked if I sold my work I lamely replied that I do it for my own pleasure and my own pleasure alone. My father told me I was stupid and I should have said "yes of course, have this original for $500".
