My computer suddenly switches itself of after about 30 minutes, The trouble is the power switches off too but the battery remains on and I cannot switch the machine of at all (The start/off button just keeps flashing in unison with the battery light) holding a finger on the start/off switch for minutes makes no difference. The only way to close down is to remove the battery after which the machine reverts to normal Vista Boot Up procedure.
Any help would be appreciated.

Your computer could be overheating I assume that it is a laptop you have you should check the cooling vents and see that the fan is working . A good cleaning of the system maybe what is needed. Try this and see how you go.
