Minor Eye Damage
I got hit in the spectacles by a flying nail and they broke, a very small piece of the glass hit me in the eye, just came from the hosp and they said nothing is actually there, even though it feels like it!! They said the feeling will pass. Anybody know how long this might take to feel normal?
Yeah I KNOW that I should wear googles for this kind of thing, in fact I had been, but this was the very last nail of the day and I couldn't be bothered to climb down the ladder and get them.
Maybe I should start a thread about laziness!!

As pixi says, it should pass in two to three days, really really try not to rub it, as this will irritate it and it will take longer to heal.
Also, i've got to get something out of my loft and last time i went up there i nearly broke my neck because i couldn't be bothered to go downstairs to get the ladder ... do you think you could get it for me :o)
Hi englishbird, If you mean get the ladder for you, yeah no problem where is it, just behind the shed OK.
If you mean to go in your loft and get something, forget it I don't know what you might have living up there and I don't like things with long hairy legs landing on me, ( the wife excluded of course).
when my daughter was little, she tore her cornea with a sharp nail (she was a baby at the time) and she couldn't open her eyes. The doc patched it up and said it would feel as though there was something in it, but that it should improve in about 48 hours and she will start using it again...Don't know if that was just because she was so young.
So, I would expect an injury such as yours to heal in the same time. Try to tape your eye closed. The fluid in your eye and the rest it will get will really help it to recover quickly. Also DO NOT RUB IT! It will make it worse and irritate it more.
I'm sorry you are injured. Hope you get well soon.
P.S My husband is indeed toooooo lazy. he is rubbish with goggles when DIY-ing and also has chronic asthma, he is really bad, on the odd occasion when he has had to do something dusty, or has been up in the attic, he never wears a mask and then suffers a minor asthma attack straight after.....Drives me round the bend...Now, I just make sure it's me that goes up in the loft....Maybe he does it on purpose ? D'you think?
