I don't recommend a book or a video. Why? because it can't answer a question if you get stuck on something or don't have a working knowledge of animal learning theory or methodology. To get a complete how to kind of book you would need about 10 or more different ones, mushed together in one, it would be larger than war and peace, Why? Because ALL dogs are different some learn differently than others not all Akitas are the same, they aren't clones. The best way to train a DOG of any breed or mix, is a TRAINER, a living breathing, certified or Accredited trainer. One that uses positive reinforcement techniques, will let you sit in on a session to see if you like what is being taught and if you will like their personality and see if they know dogs or not and how they treat dogs and people in their class and dogs need the socializing that comes from a class. Akitas have a tendency to be aloof with dogs and people so this is important. Check your area for a good trainer, that would be my advice....
