Is this from last night, or is it More 4? I haven't seen it yet, so just wondered. I do enjoy this show... even though I usually end up crying!

More4 im a weeper too.
Ohh, I'll have a look. Did you see the one a couple of weeks ago, with the "celebrity" hairdresser from London? His brother had suffered with a brain injury, so he'd had experience personally. That was a good one. I think it makes better viewing when the "secret Millionaire" has been through a bit of a rough time themselves. You feel more towards them.

This was interesting because the guy owned the priory , then went undercover to Leeds helping alcoholics and saw the other end of the addiction scale.
crikey, I didnt know it was on tonight! Maybe catch it on iplayer tomorrow?
(were virgin media) I usually have a bawl too teddy
Ah, I saw that one! Yes, it was brilliant wasn't it. He was so used to seeing the "glamorous" side to it... if that's the right word to use!
I liked him. He was from a normal, humble background. Seeing the girls at the rehabilitation centre was a bit of an eye-opener for him, I think!
I think I would guess if someone followed me around with a Camera and Sound-Man. The show has been on for years.
Well yeah, there is always that.
The "shock factor" when they reveal themselves at the end, has definitely disappeared, I think.
I must be the only person then that finds it embarassingly patronising to people, I really hate it as a show. If you want to give to charity then do so, don't self agrand and humiliate those less fortunate than yourself.
^^ Hear! Hear!
I agree....
Apparently not then;-)
I'm sure there are some millionaires who go under cover without a camera in tow.
Yeah exactly- I just think lying to people and getting them to like and trust that lie only for them to then be considered worthy of your 'charity' is really demeening.
Yes, and it's also very disappointing for the viewing public when the recipients do not look suitably overwhelmed with emotion!!
To my mind the end justifies the means!!
I like secret millionaire, it makes me smile... I think if it raises awareness then it's probably a good thing. I generally prefer charity to be done in a private manner but if everyone was like me then nothing would get publicised! (In terms of where it is needed, not publicity for giving to charity in the first place).

I think its sincere and helps people.Wheres the harm in that?
I have a friend who was made homeless last year to make room for a Secret Millionaire project.
Tha project supported a homeless charity who wanted to purchase bigger premises and wanted a lcoal pub because of it's situation. My friend was manageing the pub and the charity came along and bought it and kicked him and his teenage daughter out 2 weeks before xmas.
I do watch though and did used to enjoy it. yes I'm sure there are millionaires who do it without a camera crew but surely the point is to raise awareness, not only of the cjharities themselvs, but of how we don;t always stop to think of others, especially if our own lives are very comfortable.
Agree with CD. I help out at a homeless shelter, and I would never have thought of doing it, if it wasn't for something I'd seen on an episode of this show.
I do kind of agree with the patronising comment, made by NOX, as it can be a bit embarrassing for the "less fortunate" people, when they get the "I'm actually a very successful businessman and a millionaire". That part does make me cringe a bit.
However, I do still love it and think it's a really good way of raising awareness, and much needed funds, for these charities.
