Now I know the chicken at Subway probably isn't the best butI just don't believe this; my brother and his girlfriend claim that it used to be made from reformed crab meat and seafood; they say it was on the menu in the fine print and linked by an asterix to where chicken was listed on the menu. Can anyone prove or disprove this please?
I've had chicken in a sub from there and it was definitely chicken pieces, not reformed either, it was actual chunks of chicken.
This tale from your brother sounds like an urban myth of sorts to me.
I dont think that would be true, they would have to put a big warning considering a lot of people have shellfish allergies, plus why would they call it chicken when it isnt chicken, they could get done for that!
Hahahaha! Didn't realise I'd missed the 'h' maybe it was a special offer; free hat with every sandwich! I've always found the chicken to be OK at Subway and think my brother must be mistaken but he's convinced!
Serious answer. I shouldn't think it is true for one minute as Subway advertise it AS chicken and would fall foul (or even fowl) of consumer regs. That aside, someone with a fish allergy could suffer if that was the case, and in theory could sue the pants off them.
I just Googled this and according to some of the articles the crab meat at subway isn't actually crab meat (it's imitation made from fish), maybe that is what he was thinking of and got his subs mixed up.
Ah thanks Daffy; maybe he misread the menu! Will have to get one next time I go and have a look but he says it was a year ago or so so they might have changed it! Once he gets an idea in his head he's convinved; like me really! He also thought the Rebecca Black song 'Friday' was originally by Bob Dylan; quick Google sorted that one!
You get the odd free bug too .. in Subway food .. so I understand.
I expect most of the fillings are re-constituted : )
Better of with a filly burger from KFC!
Stomach or creepy-crawly type Albags? Yes I expected it to be reconstituted; which I try not to think about because the production processes involved were explained to me and make me want to become veggie; but when he said chicken was made from crab I was very sceptical!
