What fun I had yesterday making salt dough, has been years since I made it with the kids, lots of cutters and hey presto loads of new decorations for the tree, all I have to do now is get them painted and varnished and theyl last for years.

Never heard of dough mites, tried googling it too but nothing!!!

If you bake the dough at 100 degrees instead of letting it dry naturally, the mites shouldn't be a problem.

Thanks venator, glad I baked mine then :)
You can microwave it too - I used to have a microwave doughcraft book and one year when I was skint I made clocks as Xmas presents. All I had to buy were cheap clock mechanisms. They worked out really well and everyone loved them too.
