How about putting some anti-frizz stuff through damp hair, then drying it a bit- makes it go nice and wavy but still shiny! Do it once and see what your mates say. If they say nothing, you know it looks better straight!
I hate to say it but I reckon the best thing to do is invest in a really good pair of straightners (I'd recommend GHD's) You'll save money in the long run and nothing gives you a better finish than straightners. My hair is quite naturally wavy and I have been through the rigmarole of all of these expensive products but I can honestly say that I have found that if you use good straightners you don't need all of this other stuff.
i know, but one of my mates has a pair in GHD's and her hair is auful, she straightnes it most days and the ends are broken, frayed and the colour is v dull, absolutly no shine. generally not v nice. but i dont have the heart to tell her cos she dnt have much confidence as it is neway! and it just puts me off big time! i love my hair its my pride and joy, when it does what i want it to. @ the mo ive just let it naturally dry 4 a bit, scrunch it up with some moose and give it a quick blow dry, and hey presto, funky wavy hair. but i love having straight hair!? ahhhhh!!!!
I have naturally wavy hair, but I prefer it straight, as it is more managable. I have GHD's which I only use on special occasions so my hair is not damaged from over use - you are right, you cant beat them though! However, on a day to day basis I use Zero frizz. It is a serum that costs about 3.99 from Bodycare, and is the American answer to Frizz Ease, and much much better. It also acts as a treatment for your hair, as well as keeping it straight. I put it on wet hair, then brush it through, and leave it to dry naturally. Can't beat it!!!
